My process with each piece is explore the energetic line that connects us through generations. how those relationships are the catalyst for growth, challenge and sanctuary. what makes us… us.
The inspiration comes from many nights tucked under my grandmothers hand made quilts, each one made of my aunts old dresses each piece filled with stories. both functional and filled with beauty.
I come from a family of artists and brave women and each one has laid a finger on this work and my life in many ways.
I explore the concept of space and how much I can take up how much the women in my family were allowed to take up the shapes they took to fit the rebellions they had and the shapes I take to fit and in equal parts help myself UN fit.
